Staff Net – New CUPE 1260

GENERAL MEETINGS: Every second Monday of the month. You will receive a Notice of meeting to your SD email and the meeting package to your personal email. Please ensure we have your correct personal email address.


Quick References:

Sick Days: Once you have completed your probationary period of 45 days or 5 months and have elected to receive benefits you will be granted 1.5 sick days pay per month of service.

Family Illness: When an immediate family member (as defined in ARTICLE 17 d) becomes ill you are entitled to use 2 days from your sick bank and an additional 4 days for a total of 6 days per year.
Bereavement: Members can take up to 5 days leave with pay when a death occurs in their immediate family as defined in ARTICLE 17 (d).

Discretionary Leave: Members are entitled to 2 days UNPAID leave per calendar year. 72 hours’ notice must be given. Days are not to be combined with any other leave including sick days.

Violent Incidents: Violent Incidents are outlined in ARTICLE 24 and include any physical force and/or threatening statement or behavior. All incidents are to be reported to the supervisor and must be documented as outlined in ARTICLE 24. Forms can be found on Staff Net under the Human Resources tab. Forms should be forwarded to general@cupe1260.ca .

Reportable Behavior: When an incident occurs that does not fall under the Violent Incident umbrella there is a separate form that can be found in the same place titled Reportable Behavior. Please don’t hesitate to use these resources.

Site Liaisons: It is our goal to have a CUPE 1260 member at each school site act as a Liaison in sharing information between members and the Union executives. If you are interested please let us know!
